JOHNNY JUNG JUNG VISITS FLORALIS GENERICA
While in Argentina, Johnny Jung Jung visited the famous sculpture Floralis Generica. Floralis Generica is located in Plaza de las Naciones Unidas, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is made of steel and aluminum, and was given as a gift to the city by an Argentine architect named Eduardo Catalano. According to the architect, Floralis means "belonging to the flora" and Genérica is from the concept of "gender" which depicts that it represents all the flowers in the world.
Created in 2002, Floralis Generica represents a large flower which looks at the sky, extending to its six petals. The petals are designed to open during the day and close in the night. However, there are four special nights which the petals remain open: May 25, September 21, December 24 and December 31.
